To Forgive and to Be Forgiven

Sunday, April 28, 2019

We take for granted so many things in our life. We have a tendency to think these things will always be there. The fire in Paris shows us one very important aspect of our faith. The fire may have destroyed part of a building, but it could not destroy the faith. Our faith cannot be destroyed except within ourselves. I am always comforted in the face of tragic situations how powerful faith is. I have often described God as our strength. God does not allow bad things to happen. Life happens and we turn to God for strength and love. God is always with us especially in those times when we take that for granted. "Love one another as I have loved you." We will take things and others for granted and the same will happen back to us. We are human. This is part of who we are. The question is when we are taken for granted will we be hurt or will we love as we are loved. Forgiveness is the greatest act of love. To forgive and to be forgiven. Our faith depends on these great acts of love. After all that was done to Jesus on the last day he said "forgive them for they know not what they do" and " Father to you I commend my spirit" the greatest words to live by.

Sincerely,
Bill Mezzetti
