Practice what we preach.

What does it mean to be kind and understanding? I see and hear a lot of people talking about how we need to be more tolerant and I have often seen signs on the rear of some cars saying be kind and coexist. This is all great I guess, but I am often left to wonder why we need to be told to be kind and coexist and we see signs like hate has no home here. We often hear that the christian right is this or that or those on the left are this and that. So I am left to wondering if we are thinking that one or the other is this and that when does the tolerance come into play? My personal belief is we should all practice what we "preach" instead of preaching. Live our lives the best we can and stop talking so much and get action. do things without letting others know what we are doing. Love one another without seeking the recognition. Do things that are the right thing to do without saying we are this or that. In other words as was once said, "preach the gospels, use words if necessary" Sometimes I think we all "protest too much" Practicing our faith is a good thing to do. This allows us the chance to grow and become useful to those who need us to be useful. The good news is we all are those who are in need. Be kind and understanding. We all need just that.
