Peace be with you.
As municipalities, states, countries, and global organizations continue to battle the threat of COVID-19 (coronavirus), please know the priority of our parishes is to promote the health, safety, and well-being of our parishioners, members of our staffs, and everyone in the local communities in which our parish communities exist. During this time of social distancing and suspension of ongoing ministries, we also seek to help you feel connected to your parish and deepen your faith.
For parents of children who are struggling with how to talk with them about COVID-19, please find attached a resource that will help you. For all of us wondering how to bring the light of our faith to the COVID-19 pandemic, please find attached a resource that addresses this.
If you are a Facebook user, that platform is another great way to feel connected to others and to your parish. Make sure to "Like" St. Mary of the Assumption Parish (www.facebook.com/stmaryhull/) and St Anthony's Parish/Rectory (www.facebook.com/St-AnthonysParishRectory-120800881265005/). During the suspension of public Masses and gatherings, I have been using Facebook Live to stream a daily Mass or devotional activity (rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Stations of the Cross).
Augustine Institute and Magnificat, two quality Catholic organizations, are offering free resources during this challenging time.
The Augustine Institute is offering all members of the Archdiocese of Boston 40 days of free access to FORMED, its online library of faith formation and Catholic media resources for adults and children of all ages. There are great choices for family movie night, books for children and teens, and Bible studies and other educational resources for adults. You might think of FORMED as a Catholic Netflix!
To join, go to www.formed.org. Click the SIGN UP button. Click "I belong to a Parish or Organization." In the box labeled "Find your parish or organization," type Faith at Home Boston. Type in your first and last name and email. That's it!
Magnificat is providing complimentary access to their online version to help you pray from home. Magnificat is a spiritual guide to help you develop your prayer life, grow in your spiritual life, find a way to a more profound love for Christ, and participate in the Holy Mass with greater fervor. Magnificat is a monthly publication designed for daily use, to encourage both liturgical and personal prayer.
