The Hospitality Committee seeks to promote the social well-being of the parish family. Committee members assist at parish functions and events, initiate and support at small coffee socials after Sunday worship services, and provide hospitality for bereavement gathering after a Funeral held at St. Anthony if requested by the deceased’s family. Members of this committee are also asked to encourage parishioners and guests to attend these gatherings so that the parish may build community through fellowship.
- Parish Functions – A number of larger Parish social events take place throughout the calendar year (e.g., St. Anthony Parish Picnic, St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, Pasta with the Pastor, Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, etc.) which Hospitality Committee members support.
- For families or groups that require a location to gather for casual refreshment and conversation after a Funeral at St. Anthony, the Parish Hall may be available for use. The Hospitality Committee can offer a limited menu or the family may arrange for a caterer and still using the Parish Hall facility. If this ministry is needed, please inquire with the Parish Office staff when making Funeral arrangements. Schedules for the Parish Hall and Hospitality Committee members will be checked for availability. A goodwill offering is expected to offset cost. No liquor is allowed as part of this Bereavement Hospitality offering.
- Coffee and Conversation After Sunday Services – Currently, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices and pastries are offered after the 8:00 Mass on Sunday mornings. All parishioners and families are invited at no cost to stop in to enjoy fellowship and conversation, catch up with old friends, make new acquaintances and welcome newer parishioners into the church community. If anyone would like to help with this hospitality after the 8:00 Mass or would like to start a similar hospitality offering after one of the later Masses, please contact the Parish Office for more information.
